Carey Shaffer Carey started riding horses in Hawaii at the age of 2-1/2 years. She grew up riding in many disciplines, and caring for every size and shape of horse, at home in the barn and at the shows. This wide base of experience gave Carey an award-winning critical eye for conformation, an innate feel for its temperament and needs, and acute discernment on how to get the most out of the older horse, and more importantly, how to train the youngster to achieve it's maximum potential. Her classical training methods and sound horsemanship produce horses willing and able to perform at their optimum. Training Services Carey offers a full spectrum of training services for the hunter/jumper rider and horse at every level of experience; from committed novice to the advanced rider. Carey approaches the horse and student with a classical philosophy, emphasizing strong flatwork by first creating sound basic horsemanship skills.
